Ko Yama Ryu instructors are,

Oliver Garwood
5th Dan

Oliver has been training in the Martial Arts since the age of 4. Below is a list of grades and qualifications he currently holds.

  • 5th Dan Goshin Jutsu
  • 2nd Dan Traditional Aikido
  • 1st Dan Tomiki Aikido
  • 1st Kyu Judo (BJA)
  • Coaching Award – SamboUK

With experience in a wide variety of other arts including TaeKwon Do , Karate and Tai Chi. Oliver has also had the pleasure of teaching at the F.A.O. G.B. annual training seminar in London, amongst some of the highest ranking instructors in the world.

Kate Garwood
3rd Dan

Kate has been training for ten years in Goshin Jutsu and is ranked Sandan, 3rd degree black belt. Kate also holds the YMCA Fit qualification in Instructing Health Related Exercise for Children.

Mark Ford
2nd Dan

Mark holds the rank of Nidan, 2nd Dan. In addition to his training with KYR he is also 1st Kyu (Brown belt) in Tomiki Aikido with Norfolk Tomiki Kwai. Mark is an assistant club coach .

Alex Lambert

Alex is an assistant coach with Ko Yama Ryu. He is a 1st Kyu (brown belt) in Goshin Jutsu.

Ko Yama Ryu is fully insured with the Fighting Arts Organisation G.B. and instructors have CRB checked (Disclosure) and regularly attended training in Basic First Aid. Copies of these certificates are available on request.
